We took a tour bus from our hotel to "the Rock" which made it easier to cross the border. At the tourist info center we got a map to find our way around. We walked through the city right to the cable car even though we were taking the mini buses later in the day. It was great to see... More

Having heard about the Rock of Gibraltar all my life I just had to see it when I was in the area. It really is as impressive as they say and I am happy that I took the time to have a look. I did not go into the city as the border crossing takes quite a while but the... More

Food is expensive. Although they use £, most stores accept euros as well. One day trip enough no need to stay longer. More

An absolute must in Gibraltar, early morning is best in hot weather. Cable car ride short but great, do this rather than the taxi ride. More

Having been here before some years ago via a " land assault " in a car from Benalmadena in Spain, and going through the hassle of "Checkpoint Charlie" at the border control complete with bored grumpy Spanish border guards, which meant i spent hours waiting with a young family in the blistering heat. So it was a pleasant change to... More

As part of our whistle stop tour of Southern Spain, Gibraltar was hot on the list. Of course, a trip up onto the rock was the number one destination! We got to the cable car station (the sight of the cable car was enough to put me off) and after a quick visit to the toilets, started pulling out Euros... More

The rock is well worth visiting if you are staying in Gibraltar. The top of the rock is massive and you will spend hours walking along the top of the rock, climbing steps, watching the monkeys and for a fee (£3.00-£3.50) visiting the big gun and it's network of tunnels/rooms underneath. So make sure you wear comfortable footwear, and take... More
