We saw many attractions in Madrid, and this was by far our favorite. It is absolutely stunning. The rooms are gorgeous and there is so much history to be learned. The palace is wonderful and the armory is also interesting. The pharmacy was less interesting, so if you are short on time make sure you see the palace first, then... more

This is a really beautiful living museum. Parlors in the palace are each decorated in its own style (no pictures allowed). The Armory is 2 stories filled with wonderful crafted armor and weapons. Do not miss it. Tip, pictures taken from outside the gate would give a wider range than from inside the gate. more

The Royal Palace is not the current residence of the Royal Family and one can see why from the decorations in some of the rooms. The Palace is clearly a great and impressive building housing many of Spain’s treasures, but many of the rooms are a reflection of a time long since gone ... thankfully.
