We were there for two & a half hrs, only on floor 1, which has the art that most interests me...we could have stayed longer, but our stamina gave out. A note-virtually every room includes a great big bench for ok'd dodgers like me. The Impressionist collection...during, pre & post is quite impressive. More

We saw three museums on our stay in Madrid and this was my favourite. The lay-out is easy to follow and the staff were very helpful. One tip is to take the Art Walk ticket if you plan to see the Prado and the Reine Sofia - cheaper that way More

Many of the paintings were by world class artists but some have been an early piece or a "B" grade painting. Interesting. Great Impressionist collection! More

We absolutely loved the "Thyssen"! We actually ended up spending more time there than in the Prado, and liking it better -- certainly it was infinitely more comprehensible. The collection is very far-ranging, both in geographical breadth and representation of styles and periods, but it manages to be far from overwhelming in that it's beautifully organized and labelled. The surroundings,... More

In a city with an overabbundance of art museums, this one should be at the top of your list. Spectacular range of art and very well laid out, makes for an interesting visit even for those not-so enthusiastic about art - I would suggest this gallery over the Prado. The restaurant also offers a well-priced menu - just what you... More

Although this is a unique collection, it is spoilt by the continual loud talking of private tour guides. The individual galleries are quite small and the loud voices of the guide echos off the walls and makes it very hard to concentrate. I hired the audio guide but, a lot of the time, could not hear it. I did complain... More

It's not too big, but big enough to be able to see lots of cool stuff - was at the Chagall exhibition.. what a feast. More

Excellent collection. Allow several hours to spend here as it is extensive and encompasses a huge period. More
