I highly recommend a visit to El Monasterio de las Descalzas Reales in Madrid. Travel websites will do a better job than I in describing this convent--what none of them tell you is HOW to visit. Everyone I spoke with (myself included) figured it out by trial and error. Admission cost is 5 euro and there are no unguided visits.... more

Amazing collection of pictures. They only let in 3 lots of 20 people per session so you need to get there early. The other drawback was the tour was in Spanish only more

We wanted to visit this convent but we were not allowed due to the fact that we were not spanish or native spanish speakers! Don't bother to waste your time with these rude people. more
