A fairly modest museum located in what used to be a palace-like house. The collection covers many different items. I liked the Limoges ware best. More

Located in the former home of the collector, this museum offers a more personal experience of connoisseurship than the larger institutions, even to the point of allowing visitors to view additional objects in pull-out drawers in the 4th floor galleries. Art lovers should make time to visit this museum, located a few blocks from the Metro, in the Salamanca neighborhood. More

I went to this museum after reading a few sentences in a travel guide. The collection is held within the walls of Lazaro Galdiano's house and it certainly is impressive. This museum reminded us of the Mauritz House in The Hague, given that it was smaller than most museums. The collection had more 'domestic' articles than we were interested in - would have been great if we were interested in silver work, plates, etc. The art work was worth seeing, and the insight into the articles the very rich surrounded... Open on Mondays, this palatial home is near the Salamanca shopping district, American Embassy, Abba Madrid, AC Avenida de América hotels. II have been three times and not seen it all in detail. It contains everything from weapons to stately furniture. A stroll through this beautifully restored and maintained home will be a pleasant experience for anyone, all ages. More
