I would rate this zoo only a little lower than the San Diego zoo which I consider the best I have been to. The variety of animals was huge including birds, reptiles, animals, and fish. There were also motorized dinosaurs that moved and almost seemed alive. All the animals looked great. Also don't miss the reptile and aquarium areas. Both... More

Madrid Zoo is one of the best kept secrets in Madrid. Plan a day of delight, fun, beauty. A superb Zoo to visit. Easy to park and have a picnic in El Campo Park. GPS took us straight there. Be sure to see the dolphin show, the bird show, the reptile show. So many incredible animals. Gorgeous Zoo. The entry... More

Bad points: overpriced (they charge you for the map!), and a difficult layout to navigate. Some parts closed off out of season, and some electric fences, which really surprised me. Good points: where possible animals are separated using e.g. ditches instead of bars. Good displays - e.g. flying exotic birds. And of course, the pandas. The pandas have had babies... More

I was in Zoo Madrid with my wife and young son and I was surprised by the large variety of animals and birds. The place is huge, very well organised, easy to visit and there are unique animals to see, as the Panda bear or the gorillas... I recommand it for families. More

The perfect plan for a saturday or sunday during spring or autumn. The bad guy is the food: the restaurants are not very good. More

Spent 5 hours at the zoo/aquarium and rate it as one the best I've been to. Very open concept with lots of exposure to animals. We had no idea we'd spent so much time because it was so engaging. A great place to take kids. More

Before we went we looked on trip advisor and the top review had said that it was animal torture. I can’t stand seeing animals hurt in any way and was worried but my boyfriend said all the other reviews had 5 stars so I’m sure it was ok. I wish I had listened to the bad review and not gone.... More
