Why would you visit a 'safari' in the middle of a European city?
If you want the real deal, I highly suggest you go to Kenya for a real safari (or Tanzania, Botswana or South Africa). There's nothing like it.

The park has lots of interesting animals who will obligingly run after your car and nibble carrots passed through the window. But it is an utterly bleak setting for the animals themselves, mainly a huge open space with grim concrete structures and something the Madrid provincial government should be ashamed of. Skip it and go to Madrid's much nicer zoo...

Our experience at the Safari was excellent. We drove from Madrid about an hour to the middle of nowhere to find this place. At the front gate where you buy the tickets you are able to purchase carrots to feed the animals. Our family of 5 got two bags, inexpensive. Started driving thru as all the animals started approaching, mainly...
