The fish was cooked perfectly as was the meat. For me the cactus sorbet with tequila was on another level. Great welcome and superb service with a wonderful meal. If you get the chance just go for the experience. My wife and I will be back.

Chueca is the gay district of Madrid, full of chic restaurants and shopping places. There are clean tapas bars, shoes shops, a cute mercado (San Anton), but it's EXPENSIVE! Generally clean and safe. Walk on Fuencarral and Hortaleza and direct to Chueca. I have my favorite wok, Japanese, vegan restaurants on the way. Also there are lots of good cafés...

Chueca, is a hip neighborhood repleted with boutiques, restaurants and lounge bars. For shoes enthusiasts, the calle Augusto Figueroa abounds with shoe shops. And further down the street, towards calle Barquillo, check out the Mercado San Anton (Calle Augusto Figueroa, 24) a recently-designed-indoors-food-market-turned-into a trendy spot for a wide variety of gourmet tapas, pastries/desserts/coffee, on the 2nd floor and groceries...

Except this is probably more rudimentary, raw and riotous. The scene is 10x rowdier at night. If you like people watching from dusk 'til dawn, this is the place to be. More of an outdoor party scene than anything else. Crowds overflow from the restaurants and bars to the streets. Blend with locals. Don't act like a tourist here.

handsome men, beutiful girls, good restaurants, nice shopping, very lively at night and the center of the gay life. It´s a must in Madrid. Don´t miss the gay parade and the gay celebrations during the end of june/beginning of july.

Great, friendly atmosphere in the evenings. The place to buy funky clothes and dine in style.

Chueca is an interesting barrio and is known as Madrid's gay barrio. There are many bars in the area and also many boutique stores that sell clothing. It can be noisy at night. I enjoy seeing the Santa Barbara Church, a very beautiful church.

Love the Chueca area. A mixed of stores cool and run of the mill. Outlets are okay but nothing great.
The market was like a gourmet deli. Small and select. We didn't eat at the top floor restaurant just at the food counters on the level above the market. We had an excellent Huevos rotos, patatas, jamón and some milk...
