quiet haven, full of amazing trees and flowers. i just sat there reading a book, undisturbed, listening to birds, away from the crowds at the Prado museum. More

Went to the Royal Botanic Garden because it was something to do and read about it as a plant museum. Thought that meant it to be super informative and interesting. Basically, it was more like my backyard at home where my dad likes to buy a bunch of random plants and organize them in no particular order. We went in... More

Although cheap-3 euros -the Garden isn't well cared for or thought out. The Bonsai trees were lovely but the Botanical Gardens was rather small and unimpressive especially considering the calibre of the city and the Parque del Retiro. My advice skip the Gardens and head for the park, better cared for, more interesting and free. More

Lots of trees and shrubs but not a lot of thematic or generic beds to study. Not a touch on many other botanic gardens .. but it is an oasis from busy Madrid More

This botanical garden is over 200 years old with specimens of the same age. Whether or not you're a gardener, this garden should be near the top of you list of things to see in Madrid. The plants and views throughout the garden are stunning. It's right next to the Prado and costs 3E. If I had to choose between... More

The tulips were mostly finished flowering, the trees and shrubs were in bud and there's lots of work going on - I'm sure it's more spectacular later in the year. More

Many of the tulips were in full bloom, and we were glad we were there on a sunny day. The garden is gorgeous, has a huge variety and flowers and trees, and is exemplary. For 3€ for me and free for my husband who is over 65, this is a steal! More
