When we found out we were visiting the city of Cartagena i wondered what we were in for, as we had never been to this part of Spain before. But leaving our cruise ship we were pleasantly surprised at just how clean and vibrant this city was, walking through the main centre where all the shops and bars were we... More

This is an impressive museum. You enter at the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, 9. First you pass some exhibits and statues. Then you see the indoor remains of a Roman house and a church, at the end you reach the theater. It takes a lot of escalators to reach the Roman theatre. We took an outdoor exit door at the bottom... .The museum's galleries were interesting and informative and made a good introduction to the actual theatre, which was more impressive than I expected. I loved it. I'm only sorry that I could not enter the old cathedral to see the mosaic, but I was told that it's not open to the public.I wanted to buy a T shirt in Cartagena,... More

The museum entrance is unassuming and in no way prepares you for the size of these ruins which are surrounded by appartments and situated right in the centre of Cartagena. You are free to wander up and down the steps and to dance on the stage should the fancy take you!! It is certainly worth the entance fee and the... More

Fantastic tour and museum of this city centre Roman amphitheatre. Only €6 to get in. If you suffer from vertigo or agrophobia you might struggle a bit with the steps inside the ruins, but well worth a visit. More

The Roman Theater in Cartagena is definitely not to be missed. The tour starts from the indoor museum. It gives the visitors in a very short time a good impression about the development of the theater. Through an ancient corridor we walked in the Roman Theater itself. It is very impressive and pleasant to walk around. It is almost unimaginable... More
