The castle couldn't be left unnoticed . It's settled on the top of a mountain overlooking the city. It's so beautiful! the view was amazing. They also have a small museum but not very interesting enough (for us at least). Taking photos became our main activity. "Fantastisk utsikt over byen!" This place is not advisable for people who have walking...

The castle dominates the skyline in the city and is accessed by a lift which only costs €2.40 and takes the strain out of the visit. The interpretive films and boards are excellent and have a fascinating tale to tell. You get a great view of the surrounding area and if it's not too hot it's a 'must do'

The castillo is a great get away in bustling Alicante. There is a lift on the opposite side of the beachfront, which gives easy access to the castle for disabled and families with small children.

Easy to find and close to the town of Alicante. We just walked from the hotel to this attraction. The staff were very helpful. We were offered to watch a film telling the history of the castle in English, the minute we walked into the room. The castle is on a hill, there is a lot of uphill walking involved....

This is a must-see when visiting Alicante. You can get to the castle through a tunnel and with a fast elevator.
Also you can use 1 euro to look through a telescope and see the whole town and the sea.

Recently renovated you...

Fantastic views of the city, the Mediterranean Sea, and the lay of the land can all be had from atop this ancient castle/fort. Alicanted was one of our first stops on our trip to Spain, and at the time I couldn't be more pleasantly surprised by how much access we had to this historic landmark. The more you see of...

The lift was out of order so we decided to walk up to the castle.... and I was really glad we did. We passed some beautiful old-town houses - the path is actually quite beautiful and the view when you reach the top is stunning. The castle itself is gorgeous with lots of interesting sculptures and plants, and of course,...
