Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This place has beautiful views in both directions and is worth a visit. There a multiple steps down to the lower viewing area so may not be suitable for all. Of note, there was a man collecting signatures and donations, he had a card stating he was deaf and dumb. Some of our party gave a small donation which he put in his pocket, no sign of a collection tin, make your own mind up about that.

Placa De Castell is without a shadow of a doubt one of the big tourist attractions in the wonderful Old Town of Benidorm, home to Eglesia De Sant Jaume I Santa Ana ,the beautiful church that dominates this square ,the square brings you out onto Balcon De Mediterráneo which affords the best views of Poniente Beach, Levante Beach, Mal Pas Beach and the beautiful Mediterranean Sea beyond, on the square are very cool monuments, the big anchor, the wonderful cannons ,the huge head sculptures and there's some good pubs and restaurant also, it's a must go destinations if you're planning a holiday to this sun kissed resort.

Beautiful scenery and view. Must visit if in Benidorm. Located in the old town. However heat and humidity makes it hard to walk uphill and was extremely busy at sunset.

This small square is beautifully located on Punta del Canfali, a rocky settlement on the coast. Here was a castle built in 1325.
This fortress was at a strategic point where it was possible to watch the ships coming. However, in the war of independence, the English fleet demolished the castle by firing from their ships' cannons.
Today you can find a charming church, some restaurants, a cannon monument, and stunning panoramic views.

One of our favourite places to visit in the resort, steeped in history and with stunning views across the sea, Levante, Poniente and beyond. Whilst it was very busy and some selfish visitors blocking aspects to pose for photos for excessive time it is worth the visit and being patient.

Placa Del Castell is the square were once the castle of Benidorm once stood ,it's been brought back to life and looks as good as ever ,it's a major tourist destination ,from this square you have the very popular Balcon Del Mediterraneo which offers great views of the wonderful Poniente Beach,Playa Mal Pas and Levante Beach plus the Mediterranean Sea ,on the square are some interesting sites such as ancient cannons and an anchor ,you also have the stunning church as a great backdrop to the square ,it's most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area or planning a trip to the Old Town.

Depends whether you want to go many people go and stroll around or somewhere different. It is a lovely place but can get very busy.
If you don't mind a walk I would suggest you around the bay to the little bays with some fabulous views like punta del Cavall and there is a nice little cafe on the way down to it.
If the pair of you fancy a real challenge take the road up to La Cruz de Benidorm for an unbelievable view but take water with you it's a good climb.
Or go the other way round the bay to Cala Finestraat there's a lovely lookout looking around the bay from the other side.
But possibly a favourite would be to jump on the bus to L'Albir take a stroll towards the beach and there is a lovely cafe with a beach and cliff view.

Does this place have a romantic significance, as there were a lot of locks and names on one particular piece. Also when we were there a few days ago there was a very large group of men and woman all dressed in white.

Stunning views of both beaches. Yes you might even get to see a local wedding up there at the church. It's a lovely place to buy local handicrafts and jewellery.

what is the history of placa del castell benidorm
Stephen H
Sheffield, UK162 contributions
The Placa del Castell
The two main beaches are divided by the headland where the castle once stood. A fort stood here until 1812 when the British and Spanish troops blew it up whilst expelling the French. Here you will find the Placa del Castell with a beautiful balony and viewpoint. From here you can see the expanse of both sides of Benidorm. As you look out to sea, behind you is the church and a couple of monuments.
Benidorm mirador
In the Placa del Castell area there are some fine cannons that used to stand in the fort, along with a monument to those lost at sea.
There are often musicians performing in the plaza and it's quite common for people to be dancing to the music. There's a fine restaurant with all day sun on the terrace.

Efectivamente esta muy cerca. Sólo subir un poquito, unos 800 m. Tal como te dice José Juan en su respuesta. Merece la pena. Las vistas son preciosas

Hi, I assume this lovely place is not accessible for wheelchairs but what about by taxi? Thanks in advance
Trevor L
Doncaster, UK313 contributions
Unless it's an electric wheelchair it would be a hard slog for the last 50 yards or so as the streets are quite steep from that point, plus the roads/pavements are not tarmac but it would be possible.
If you used a taxi they would probably have to drop you off and then come back for you, as there is no parking available at all and I'd allow at least half an hour for that, if you want to really enjoy the views. It would also be a good place to have a drink, so you might want to extend that to an hour in that case. I would think the Villa Venecia (where we stayed) offer drinks to non residents and their fresh orange was the best I've ever had.
