I suppose you have to get exited about tall, old trees to get the most out of this place, although the bromeloid house (the name of the small greenhouse with pineapple and it's relatives) was also quite a highlight, as was the orchid house. I spent several hours wandering the many paths of the gardens and thoroughly enjoyed everything there...

Admittedly I was there in February, but the plants in the hot houses were not well tended not were those outside. There is an odor of kitty litter that pervades the garden. Perhaps it is better in the spring???

The Botanical Gardens were founded in 1567 and it was a farm for medicinal plants. In 1802 the garden was transferred to the Huerto de Tramoyeres outside the city walls. They were run by the University of Valencia and were created by the botanist Antonio Jose Cavanilles. It has more than 3000 species of plants and 7000 trees and shrubs....

Not huge but without a doubt worth a visit and you can still spend several hours here if you are interested in plants. The cacti are very impressive and just to see them makes it worthwhile! Low admission costs makes it also good value for money!

WIthin the old city centre visit you can see the local plants and trees well kept and easy to visit

The Jardi Botanic is a very nice green space in a large Spanish city. The city has spent time and effort into providing a peaceful place to walk within a busy city.

We visited this park twice. The first time we had a slow stroll and admired the plants. The second time I snoozed on a bench with the beautiful sound of the water features in the back ground. Not many people were here when we visited, just a few locals sat relaxing and shading from the sun.
