The phenomenal CIUTAT DES ARTS E SCIENCIES is a complex of ultra-modern pavillions, engeenered by Santiago Calatrava and Felix Candela (two of the most important Spanish architects). The result of this union is a bombastic and futuristic creation with lots of boldness, giving Valencia other kind of touristic attraction, the inovation. The complex has free entrance and is a paradise... more

We spent a day at the Cuidad de las Artes y las Ciencias and loved it, it was well worth visiting. The architecture was amazing, it was so much bigger than it looked in the photos that I had seen and really was quite stunning. The scale did mean that there was quite a bit of walking so it is... more

The complex is ambitious but the management of the site is terrible and it fails in most respects. more

The architecture is exciting and on a grand scale. This involves a lot of walking. Only visited the Aquarium. Very disappointing considering the admission charges and not as interesting/ effective or child friendly as, for example, The Sealife Centre in Birmingham UK or the Aquarium in Denver Co. Huge spaces but not actually that much to see and certainly not... more

The complex is amazing and boasts some of the best modern architecture I have seen in Europe. However, I was concerned to see the primitive conditions in which the Beluga whales are kept. They have a very small area in the aquarium. I have similar concerns for the penguins which are completely indoors and are unable to even breathe fresh... more

The Ciutat is fantastic, amazing. We spend 2 whole days there end of Sept 2007. If I lived in Valencia I would go there every day. Also very incredibly clean. How many UK attractions can boast that!!?? Do not miss out on the place, it is a must see. Helen, Cardiff, Oct 2007 more

The site is still under cosntruction but the aquarium is fantastic and having been to Sydney this is better. We were lucky as mid Feb we had no queues and overall there was plenty of info including the held guides in English. The architecture is stunning and you can walk from the town centre in 20 minutes along the old... more

We had great expectations, and visited with children and granchildren on a Sunday in September. We are English-speaking tourists, spending 2 weeks in Spain. The site is very complex, very large, and very badly explained. The buying of the tickets itself is confusing (for the non-spanish speakers), very expensive, and not clear what the choices are and what you are... more

Visited with 2 teenagers aged 13 and 15. We all enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. The Science museum took us about 4 hours-it's very roomy and wasn't particularly busy. The upper floors are best for older kids, with loads of "hands-on" stuff, all with English translations. The Aquarium took another 4 hours-get there early as it's busy. The dolphin show is spectacular-we... more
