dont make the same mistake and turn up then. Once in (and its free) this is a great place to visit. Some very contemporary works alongside some very classical work. This IVAM art museum is for everyone and covers art styles for all art lovers. More

When I was in the IVAM, only one exhibition was about modern art. The other exhibitions were about tribes in Africa and Australia. It seemed to me to be more of an anthropologic museum than one of modern art. The modern art exhibition didn't do it for me. They were rebuilding a wing of the museum, so that could be... More

The IVAM is located at Calle Guillen Castro, 18. The building is quite large and the museum is based on the work of Julio Gonzalez, an avant-garde Spanish artist. We really enjoyed our visit to IVAM. It was a breath of fresh air after the awful Bellas Artes museum. IVAM was really spacious and a pleasure to potter around. The sculptures were very good as was the exhibition of photos from Pakistan. We visited on Easter Sunday so entrance was free. More

The gallery took a couple of hours to get round, but its split into sections so you can do it in small bits if you prefer. And its got a cafe next door for resting the feet in afterwards. Its one of the galleries that allows free entrance on a Sunday, which was great. Its a nice walk there, just... More
