Surrounding the plaza are other buildings from the city's golden age, such as the Correos (the main post office). In the center of the plaza, a fountain is surrounded by flower stalls with all the colors, sizes, varieties imagineable. This is a good starting point from which to visit Valencia's old quarter or today's most fashionable shops. « less

Unlike the mostly Spanish Plazas Ayuntamiento (major squares) which are closed squares limited by magestic buildings with arcades, this Valencian PLAÇA D' AJUNTAMENT is an open square with a widely appearence. It's considered one of the most beautiful of Spain with magestic buildings like The Ajuntament (City Hall), The Palau de los Correos (Post Office Palace), a fountain and gardens. more

This plaza is is the most attractive plaza anywhere, with its gleaming white buildings and attractive architecture. My wife, who travels all over the world on business, and I visited in December. When we walked out onto this Plaza our jaws literally dropped. And then everywhere we turned and walked in old town Valencia we saw another beuatiful view, beautiful... more
