The shop was interesting and had unusual cartographic items - we bought a couple. The tour was given to my wife and I and an Italian man by a guide who was clearly trying to get it over as soon as possible so he could go home. His English was fast and spoken in the same way as his Italian... More

An excellent walk into the history of paper making, with the opportunity to make some yourself! Beautiful ancient paper mill built right into the mountainside, and still producing paper! Don't miss it! More

Without a doubt, one of the greatest highlights of our stay in Ravello was to take the hike, starting in Ravello, through the tiny, pedestrian-only hillside towns of Scala & Pontone, down to Amalfi. Thanks goodness this is a downhill trek, as the heat was blistering the day we walked. (Also thankfully, every little hamlet has its charming public fountain... More

we went here for some amusement in the rain . The machines are very old and the cotton based paper manufacture quite interesting , but our guide was not very good, asking for questions but then promptly squashing them! More

We visited this small museum while staying near Amalfi. It is a quick tour and only costs a few euros. A nice addition to our trip. More

My husband and I went to visit this museum to fill in one morning and we were pleasantly surprised to see how the people of Amalfi perfected the art of making paper since the 10th century. It was an interesting and charming museum and a nice way to spend an hour. My husband had the opportunity to make some paper,... More

Not a "must" to do whilst in Amalfi but if you have some spare time and are wandering around the upper area of town, worth a look in. Informative guides and interesting exhibit of old paper making. The seemingly obligatory gift shop as you enter and exit. More

A very old building where paper was actually made at least 700 years ago. It is a bit cold and dank but you have an opportunity to dip the gadget into the pulp liquid and see how paper was made. They also have more modern machines that use water power and gears~ 1700's? to create the paper. Guide shared interesting... More
