Loved our visit to the castle. For one thing it is such an imposing and recognizable landmark or Ischia, that you really feel impelled to visit it. There is a lift, but seemed way too claustrophobic, so we decided to take the stairs. The walk was not nearly as difficult was we had imagined. The views were amazing and just... More

Rode the ferry from Naples and spent a few hours at Ischia, I walked from the Port to the Castello Aragonese. It was about a 50 minute walk and I was not hurrying, you pass many great shops, bars and dining options. Bing Maps says it is a little over 1.5 miles and it is mostly flat. If you don’t... More

Lots of history and amazing views of Ischia. Loved the tame gulls which would pose for photos in return for food. More

My husband and I spent a wonderful afternoon exploring this beautiful iconic castle. Well worth the €10 EU admission which includes a little walking tour map. The place is so large you could spend hours wondering the grounds. There is an elevator that gets you to the top, or you can choose to walk the steps, either way the view... More

Let's face it, most folks don't go to Ischia to revel in the historic significance of the island. They come for the beaches, the views, the weather, the food--but rarely to learn much about history. Take your stereotypical family: --Mom wants to hang out at the cafe and dream in guide-book Italian... --Dad wants to pretend like he has some... More

A landmark you should not miss when visiting Ischia. Very impressive architecture and size, great location with beautiful views of Ischia and the Mediterranean sea and some good restaurants and hotels close by. It is also a good spot if traveling with kids since they have lots to discover. Entrance fee (around 10 Eur) is OK. More

It's wonderful. We had a great time at this haven. From a great location built on interesting history, there are beautiful views of Ischia and into the bay and sea. Wonderful hosts (Giulio and Rosa) and staff who go out of their way to accomodate you. The evening meal is always interesting and wonderfully prepared by Francesco. It's simple and... More

The castle is amazing for a number of reasons: 1) it offers gorgeous views of both Procida and Ischia Ponte; 2) it provides a mesmorizing historical physical account of the island; and 3) it is simply one of the world's most beautiful sights. I would recommend taking about three hours out of your day to tour it. It's in Ischia... More
