We loved the part with the mosaics. But unfortunately large part of the museum was closed and we missed the temple of Venus and the maquette of Pompeii. More

I visited this museum one year ago,and I was very impressed with the giant statues from the ancient Roman times.Another very interesting collection is the gladiator´s room, with something collected from old Pompeii city like armours, helmets, daggers and so on.Another unique, permanent and very interesting exposition is the room of mysteries, showing erotiques paintings and artifacts collected from Pompeii houses. For a reasonable visit ,you... All the beautiful fresco's and statues that were removed from the archeological sites of Pompeii etc, can be seen here; a pity that little is left on site. More

This museum had the most amazing layout. All of the large statues on the ground floor had a wing of their own, which really allowed them to be taken in. I have been to a lot of places that try to cram in everything they have, this layout was far more impressive. The 'Secret Room' of sexual artifacts from Pompeii... More

Probably the only place truly worth visiting in Naples. The building is amazing, the contents more so. Worth seeing after visiting/travelling to Pompeii/Herculaneum (follow the golden rule, stay in Pompeii/Sorrento, not Naples the whole time). The Villa of the Papyri room is astounding and makes you ponder what other revelations and treasures await, buried under modern Ercolano. Audio guides are... More

The collections of artifacts, wall paintings, and pornography from Pompeii were spectacular; we had the museum practically to ourselves. Neapolitan friends had advised us to just skip Pompeii altogether as (they claimed) they had all the really good stuff from Pompeii in their museum in Naples ... Well, I wouldn't go that far, (we loved our trip to Pompeii too)... More

Liked seeing the original artifacts taken from Pompeii and Herculaneum to be preserved here. There are also many statues on the ground floor that were very interesting to look at. Some may like the "entry for 18 yrs +" area of Roman artifacts. More
