There are many monuments and many churches artisans have their shops open all year around. You must visit is incredible

The centro storico of Naples is a gem -- one of the treasures of Italy not to be missed by anyone interested in Italian history, art or culture. I hadn't realized that the city is still unpaved -- or more accurately, paved in large, black stones. Many wonderful churches loaded with art, terrific food to be had along the way,...

Wonderful atmosphere as you walk the many narrow streets of the old part of this vibrant city. Take care but enjoy the noise, the smell and the colour of life in the old streets of this great old city.

Just watch out for the motorcycles - apart from speeding round the corners we witnessed 4 people riding 1 bike and someone breastfeeding their child as they roared off on one.

Which is not really in the Centro Storico. But the Centro Storico is a great visit. Gritty and colorful. The rabbit warren of little streets filled with tiny shops and lovely pizzerie, gelaterie, cafes, etc. is a different adventure every time you visit. The long narrow view up Spaccanapoli is impressive. This is Napoli (and Italy) at its most distilled.

I just loved Naples Centro storico. You must visit hundreds of its churcehs and tousands narrow streets. It is worth to shopping and to eat there, also.

Compared with many historic centres, this one is totally lived in and very much the buzzing centre for students and Napolitanos. The streets are packed and not too clean, fascinating churches everywhere, great little bars (and not tourist traps, full of local people, especially young people) and, of course, the best pizzerias are there, on or around Via dei Tribunali....
