Not a religous person so maybe not the best judge, however I can walk around the many fantastic churches in Napoli and appriciate them, 5 or 8 Euro cant remember, many better places to visit for me

Around the origin of our Catacombs much has been discussed, they were simpleburial and never were quarries or underground ways; the first note of the monumentis repeated since the death of St. Agrippino our bishop in the II century, when hisbody was buried there in a noble tomb. Many miracles the saint operated by thetomb, so it became a place of reverence and neapolitan wished to be buried in thatplace.

OK. You need to get there by taxi - it's at the Capo de Monte, and perhaps more essentially, a taxi to get back! The tour is in Italian only, so brush up. But well worth a visit nonetheless.

A highly recommend this visit to both catcombes which are really interesting and the ticket (8 euros) includes also a guided tour of both sites.The explanation is in both Italian and English.The churches are also worth visiting too.

These are the best catecombes I have ever seen. Better than Rome or Sicily ones. They have used lighting to accentuate areas and carpeted the middle walking path. 5 stars!!

This was so much more fascinating than we expected. Our guide, Antonio, was kind enough to provide us an abbreviated English tour along with the normal Italian tour and his English was excellent. The catacombe di san genarro was eerily beautiful and the guide's explanations were important and insightful. Never have I seen anything quite like this.
