The house was closed to visitors. We did see (a copy of?) the famous mosaic of the dog on a chain through a gate at the door.

When you see pictures of the famous "beware of the dog" fresco from Pompei, it came from this house. It also includes several frescoes, including the one for which this house is named. The dog fresco was sadly dirty and hard to see at our visit, but was still recognizable.
