“rome at night plus dinner”

The coach had blacked out windows, the city was not illuminated until June and we went in May. We saw nothing. The guide promised to stop at the Colisseum and didn't. Dinner was dreary and we were deafened with over-enthusiastic opera. Not a good evening, and an expensive waste of time. More

Firstly may I apologise for what turned out to be a failure on our part to have not managed to rectify an initial shortcoming . We use the Hotel mentioned for the pick up as it is easy for the bus to stop on the corner of the hotel meeting point as it is impossible to arrive at your pension... More

“Assisi and Orvieto”

Bus was beautiful. Guide on bus lovely. We got a half hour in Orvieto...then taken to a fourth rate factory to "buy" ceramic dishes before we reached Assisi. The tour in Assisi was nice....not enough time to really "visit" anything. We then went to another church outside of Assisi...lovely. Truly....it would have been much nicer to have that extra time... Many people on these tours are on a once in a life time vacation and the local artisan shops give them an opportunity to sample and buy local goods with the knowledge that they are real and the financial transaction is safe .
