Like someone posted before me these tours can be a luck of the draw and we got the short straw on this occasion. The lady, who was quite new to the tours, had very limited english. At one point my girlfriend had to translate for everyone else by asking her loaded questions, so as not to embarrass her. Four American... More

The Free Tour of Rome was the best possible way to see all of the famous sites without having to queue up expecially at the Colosseum . The tour gude spoke excellent English and this fact made our tour even more interesting as she was obviously very informed on the subject at hand. We went to Rome with our grandchildren... More

the rome free tour formula is the ideal to visit and learn something about the city you're visiting. The guide, nice person good, fluent in english, gave us an important overview on some of the most important attractions of the city. Walking through the beauties of rome was nice, we spent one hour in half surrounded by history with a... More

i know that it is the luck of the draw for these free guides but this lady barley spoke English and at least 50% of what was said was umm or errr and like another 20 % was in Italian, one of my group members needed to start translating as she didn't have the language capabilities. im sure if we... We ended up getting what was essentially a private tour (no other groups came) of many of the major sites in the center of Rome. My goals for the tour was to get a feel for the neighborhood and to learn a bit about some of the major sights. Both goals were achieved thanks to a very informative tour guide. More

On my first trip to Rome I missed a lot with the tour group passing by many sights I would love to have seen in more depth. So this time I left my group at the Vatican, which I had visited on my first trip and with map in hand walked from there heading to the Coleseum. Walking at a... More

First let me say that we were extremely confused by the meeting point - they meet in front of the McDonald's at the Spanish Steps by the large column (i forget what it's called). Technically it is still the Spanish Steps, but for tourists like us, we had no idea that it was all connected. My husband and I went... More

I've been on quite a few free tours in various cities, and this one was bellow average. The tour itself covered quite a few sites (Spanish steps, Parliament, various piazzas, the Roman Forum, Colosseum), and we were given tons of information, which was great. However, the tour guide (a middle aged woman with auburn hair) made the experience less than... More
