Shame about the bad reviews. Everyone has heard of this place, why not stop by on your way to the Colloseum? It's a tiny bit out of the way, 2 blocks, but worth it. This huge field is grown over but the imprint of the original track and stadium seating is still there. It is used as a dog park... more

Where Emperor Palatine used to hold his sporting events. You have to take a picture from across the street because it's so massive. more

This free site is well worth a short visit. It is completely excavated, and it's easy to imagine it filled with thousands of screaming spectators while chariots raced around. Now it's a nice dog park, a great place to walk, and a wonderful reminder of the glories of ancient Rome. more

do what i did...pay 15 euros for the tour bus that drives your RIGHT buy this site. you can get a full and splendor view from your comfy seat. none the wiser! more

Ok...I wasn't expecting to see Charton Heston racing around in a chariot, but compared to other sights in Rome (Vatican, Colosseum, Forum etc) I was expecting to see something... It is shown on most of the tourist maps as this idyllic spot with the old decaying buildings still in place, but it's a dirty, dry dusty field covered in broken... more

Located near a highway. It is a field of grass. No big deal. They were setting up for a concert. more
