Went here based on the reputation - overall it was good but not great. Seats inside are very cramped and the back rests aren't forgiving at all. We had the pate mix plate and frankly, none of them really tasted any different despite the descriptions (e.g. Venison with truffles you would think is distinctive). I wouldn't go back and definitely... More

Great spot for Roman meat and cheese and local dishes. With an outstanding wine selection and attentive service. We showed up pretty early, 6:30ish, and were seated immediately (although had a confusing phone call where they claimed to have no openings. Just go early.) Try the guanciale, the burrata, and sweet and sour boar pate. Such a cozy spot and... More

food was good: wife had the lasagna, I had the caccio e pepe pasta; nice lunch, and good price, especially considering the close location to Piazza Navona; tiramusu for desert was good and so was the espresso; slow service; cramped and uncomfortable benches to sit on inside; and by US standards, inattentive service; maybe this is the European way; dress... Both delicious and affordable, Cul de Sac is a great restaurant all around. Order 4-5 plates for 2 people and share for a nice variety. More

Lasagne -- yum! Pasta with broccoli and cheese -- yum! The best caprese around! Good wine! What more do you want? OK, not to have to wait an hour for a table, but that's a small complaint. More

The food here was excellent, the menu was very divserse and I could hardly choose what I wanted. The only disappointment was no "house" wine or wine in a carafe - but they did have decent bottles for good prices. Loved it! More

Cul de Sac was recommended to us by Sean from Angel Tours. We had such a wonderful experience our first time there that we went back again at the end of our stay in Rome. Try the lasagne. The noodles are so tender, you can cut them with a fork and they will melt in your mouth. Interesting place to... More

Stumbled across this place whilst looking for somewhere to grab a quick coffee and a snack after a morning fighting through the snow in Rome. Had just opened when we walked in and we followed another couple in -- within half an hour it was full, and people were queing up outside for a table. In sub-zero temperatures, in the... More

We lived in Rome for 4 years from 1991 to 1995 and went to the Cul de Sac quite a few times. It always made a change from pasta and pizza. Went back to Rome again for the first time in 16 years and revisited the CdS. It was as good as ever. Best to concentrate on the pates, meats... More
