This lovely square, a 10-minute walk from the Spanish Steps, is both huge and interesting. One cannot help but notice the two identical churches on one end of the square, the beautiful Popolo gate on the other end and a very impressive obelisk in the middle, with a nice fountain with dog statues in it. While there's not much going... More

We stumbled upon this piazza while coming from Villa Bourghese. At the edge of the park was a fantastic terrase overlooking the city and this piazza. Lovely view. Going down the stairs led us to this lovely piazza where we hung out for a bit first sipping drinks at one of the cafes and then enjoying some fantastic slab pizza... More

It is a very beautiful square that is close to Villa Borghese ( from the side of Pincio ) and near to Piazza di Spana. It can be easily reached by metro : red line A ( Flamino stop ) . There is a wonderful Egyptian Obelisk that was built in Egypt in 1300 BC and taken by the Roman... More

Not too many people were in the Piazza at night around 9. It would be really nice for couples who want to take a walk after dinner. There are various people there singing or playing an instrument, which adds to the atmosphere. The only thing to watch out for it people selling odd items like roses (DO NOT take the... More

Much like other squares in rome, there are lots of statues, a fountain and an obelisk. The obelisk is from twelfth century bc, pretty neat. You will be hassled by hawkers selling roses and some people selling tours. Not much shade, bunch of pigeons but plenty of people. Close to restaurants and shopping. More

This square was just next to our fabulous Hotel du Russie and the "Twin Churches." This romantic spot is gorgeous at night and during the day, you must walk up the steps to the East and visit Borghese for the views and photo ops. More

If you want to capture a good spot of the Roman architecture and spendor, definitely visit Piazza del Popolo. The piazza lies inside the northern gate in the Aurelian Walls, once the Porta Flaminia of ancient Rome, and now called the Porta del Popolo. This was the starting point of the Via Flaminia, the road to Ariminum (modern day Rimini)... More

Sphinx were the last thing I expected to see in Rome, but it was a lovely surprise. It's a large piazza with an Egyptian Monument in the centre and a pretty fountain at one end. An ideal picnic stop. We found a wonderful sandwich shop that specialized in fish nearby that made up the most tasty sandwiches so we were... More
