Simply stunning and worth the effort to climb those steps. Would recommend seeing it both during the day and at night. From here you can easily access one of the terrases overlooking the Roman Forum. A stellar sight at night time when everything is dramatically lit up casting an eerie ambiance. More

This is a nice little picturesque square to walk through as you make your way from the Capitol to the Forum. The two Capitoline museums are part of the square itself. More

Walking up the stairs you are saluted by various grand statues, which make you feel very small. When you get to the statue in the centre, everywhere you look you see something beautiful. More

While maybe not on your top 5 list to do, this is an extraordinary 'piazza' that allows you to observe Rome from above. I recommend to climb the stairs and then circle the piazza which will bring you to the other side from which you can observe Foro Romano. More

The view from on top of the Campidoglio building is very nice overlooking the Roman Forum and Colleseum. Inside is quite a nice colletion of gigantic sculptures. More

One of the lesser crowded piazzas in Rome (likely due to the exertion required) it provides a fantastic view from above, with the beautiful clay tile roofs and church spires, as well as a shortcut down the hill to various other directions with delightful surprises and confusing turns. The museum is worth spending half a day in, at least. And... More

This is the ancient holy place of Roman antiquity. Rearranged by Michelangelo, it is truly Rome's most beautiful piazza. The colouring scheme and the arrangement of the ancient buildings with the replica of the statue of Marcus Aurelius is breathtaking. It is accessible via the cordonata from Piazza Venezia or a road from near the Fori Romano. The Musei Campidogli... More
