After trials of gelato in Venice, Florence, Rome and San Gimignano (where adjoining places claim to be "World's Best Gelato" and "World Champion Gelato), we agree with our friend who sent us to San Crispino for the best gelato ever. True, you can't see the choices. But the signs are there, and many are flavors you should recognize from other... More

People who say that you aren't going to get the most - or the cheapest - gelato in Italy here are correct. It's more about interesting flavors (honey, chocolate meringue, etc. to name just a few) and very high quality ingredients. This place is hard to find...but it's one of the better gelato experiences I've had in Italy. Get the... More

The owners of this place are said to have an obsessive attention to detail, and it shows. I had pistacchio and nocciola and they both tasted great. Quick service with a smile (in spite of the line). More

We visited on a Saturday afternoon in March. It wasn't very busy and everyone inside were tourists like us. I think after it was featured in Eat, Pray, Love it became a bit of a tourist trap. The prices were steep (€3 for a small cup), and the gelato itself was nice but we had nicer while in Rome. I... More

We'd read about this place in a couple of guidebooks so decided to try it. I, of course, being a simpleton went straight for the familiar and comforting Chocolate flavour which was nice enough but nothing to go home and review about. My sister had Melon and that was spectacular, it sounds incredibly stupid to say, but it was like... More

We went there several times. I wish I was able to try more flavors, but I was hooked in 2 or 3. Pistachio is excellent. My wife loved the dark chocolate one. Zabaglione was also good. Strong, but good. They produce a real Italian gelato, with natural ingredients. No additives. You should try it! More

Banana, Fig, Cream and pistacchio was great. We ate many gelatos. These are the far best. Strongly recommended. More

Don´t waste your precious roman time going to San Crispino. It´s at least disappointing. Instead, go directly to Valentino. Valentino is THE gelato. More

This was one of the many gelato stops we made during our trip in Rome. They had very original flavors that other shops did not have and they were great. The only complaint would be the small serving size (the small size for 2.30 euros) was a quite a bit smaller then some of the other shops we had been... More

We found this in our little black book of Rome and got directions from our local tour guide. It was really worth walking around away from the Trevi Fountain and finding this place. They have a lot of flavors that you might never think that you would like--try them all. So good--yum. (I know that this place is in Eat,... More
