Ever since learning that Keats lived here, I've resolved to visit, and I'm so glad I got the chance to. The museum is right at the bottom of the Spanish Steps amid the crowds, yet it's very quiet with few visitors. Inside you can see the room he stayed in, the window he stared out of, and his bed, along... More

My husband is a literature buff so when we came across the house it was a must see. The atmosphere was somber and took you back in time. The exhibits were well done and informative that even I found myself intrigued. It was an interesting stop especially considering you enter a place of solitude and quiet right next to the... More

I brought my sister and her teenage son here at the weekend and we all loved it. My sister is an English teacher so knew lots of things about the romantic poets but I didn't know anything apart from their names, but the information is very clear and helpful for everyone. Its also worth visiting just for the incredible serene... More

I visited Rome last year with my family in summer and I'd studied the romantic poets the first year of A-Level when I took English Literature and I like reading anyway so I was interested in going to the Keats-Shelley house. It was incredibly quiet inside - a welcome relief from the hustle and bustle of outside on the Spanish... More

This is very misleading as it only includes the floor that Keats lived on before his death. It is a very small area of only a main room and a couple of smaller rooms where Keats and Byron slept. Unless you are doing some study of Romantic writings, this place holds no real value. Cost is 4.50 euro pp. More

Easy to find at the right standing at the bottom of the Spanish Steps. This beautifully preserved house is a museum of the works of Keats and Shelley mainly but also contains considerable material pertaining th Byron. The stairs are narrow and winding up to the main rooms, which have a wealth of personal letters and information. Passing through to... More

My boyfriend and I visited the Keats Shelley House last weekend when we were in Rome. It was probably our favourite thing of the whole visit. If the Romantic poets interest you you must visit here whilst in Rome. Inside there are beautiful and interesting items about the poets' lives. It's an eerie feeling to stand in the room where... I learned about John Keats and his convalescent trip to Rome when I was at secondary school in Glasgow. I was impressed at that time by some of his poems and the drama surrounding his early death. This little museum was most interesting because John Keats spent his last days here and died in the end room with windows overlooking... More

Very small and modest museum but fascinating and lovely to get away from the hordes of tourists at the Spanish Steps! Very nice, helpful English girl in the museum will tell you all you need to know but all the exhibits have good information with them. I preferred this small museum to the huge Capitoline one! More

The staff were very helpful, there were lots of memorabilia, including handwritten letters, locks of hair and an urn containing a piece of Shelley's jaw bone. Lots and lots of information on Keats, Shelley & Byron in particular that was very informative. More
