You have to climb the stairs, go around the back and take the glass lift to the roof. The view is incredible and just nothing can compare. Yes, it is scary going up if like me, you do not like heights, but after a few minutes you forget where you are are start taking in the incredible views. Remember the... More

Impressive building but also and especially very impressive view overlooking all Roma from the roof top (need to pay a fee though). You can see St Peter's basilic, the forum, the colisseum etc. More

There are people who believe it's an ancient roman building, I discovered. No, it's a presumptious crappy modern monster. Only thing to notice, with respect, is the grave to the unknown solider -2 militars always watch it. In the chaos of Rome, it's quite touching. More

The museum vottoriano is not on everyone's list of sight to see but it's well worth a visit, the views are stunning and far reaching and the museum is full of interesting history about romes war history. A surprising and pleasant few hrs can be spent here . More

I've been visiting Rome since 1975, even lived there for three years. Sometimes there are very good exhibitions in there; last year we Sawan Gogh, and tomorrow we'll go to the Mondriaan. Otherwise my first impression still stands: it is as depressing inside as it is ugly outside. Una vera schifezza. You have to see Rome from the top of... More

I went to an excellent exhibition when I was in Rome recently, dedicated to Mondrian. It was called 'L'Armonia Perfetta' and displayed 70 oil paintings and drawings from the great Dutch artist and 40 pieces by other contemporary artists who influenced him. What impressed me was the way these paintings where displayed, as you can clearly see Mondrian's progression from... More

From the Coliseum in Fori Imperiali street, you get straight to the Piazza Venezia with snow-white and majestic monument in honor of the new king of Italy Vittorio Emanuele II. The monument is called the Vittoriano, and if you climb on his shining white steps higher, then the observation platform will form the central streets of Rome and the huge... More

This building dominates its space. Rough guide says " It gives the most fabulous views in rome - partly because its the one plave in rome from which you cant see the vittoriano from" You cant really miss it. But its still worth seeing More
