We were truly lucky to get a tour with Thomas Robinson, who is a true history scholar with an amazing gift for description. The time flew by on each of the two tours we took with him. He knows his stuff, so he is perfectly comfortable with questions. He could go as in-depth as anyone asked for, and he made... more

We toured the Vatican Museums and St. Peters Cathedral. This was an in depth 5 hour tour which included a reservation to avoid waiting in long lines. The tour actually lasted 51/2 to 6 hours - as the guide spent extra time for those who wanted to stay. Our tour guide was Janet, a PhD candidate in art history. She was... more

During a recent short break to Rome, my wife and I went on four tours with Through Externity (booked through recommendations on Trip Advisor). We were not disappointed, Gracelyn had the ability to bring the Roman Forum and Colisseum to life for us and was capable of transporting us back in time to imagine the bustling Forum and being part... more

summer we took 3 of their tours - Ancient Rome, Palatine Hill, and the Vatican. I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our day in ancient rome with Thomas. His enthusiasm was infectious and his love and familiarity with ancient rome enriched our experience a hundred-fold. He made the stones live for us. His gifts became even more... more

I took the Palatine Hill tour with Graceyln in October 2009. This was one of the most memorable tours I have ever taken. Graceyln had the uncanny ability to bring the Roman forum to life, as our group overlooked the ruins. It was as if the buildings reconstructed themselves before my very eyes, as she described how they were originally... more

We took the St. Peter's Basilica and Vatican Museums tour and the experience was wonderful. Our guide was erudite without talking down, and totally enthralled with the art. We had a small group (I think it was 10 people) and we had no trouble hearing him. He had no trouble keeping track of us, either. Altogether a stellar experience! more

My 3rd trip to Rome, two couples, mid-fifties.Rented an apartment through Roman Reference, between Piazza del Popolo and Spanish Steps. Good location, near subway, restaurants and shopping.Apartment-2 bedrooms and 2 baths, was adequate, clean, roomy, but had water pressure and shower drainage problems. 2 tours scheduled by fellow Cruise Critic Roll Call members with Thomas of Rome Through Eternity. First day-all... more

I spent many hours on TA reading reviews of walking tour companies in Rome prior too our trip last month. I ended up booking the Ancient Rome Tour with Through Eternity Tours because the price was reasonable and there were quite a few positive reviews. Our guide was Thomas Robinson and he was absolutely fantastic -- made the ancient history... more

We had Gabriel for the Vatican Tour. He is American and was very easy to understand, and his knowledge was impressive. We were in Rome for a week, and this tour was one of our highlights. We were worried that a 5 hour tour would be tiring, but thought a shorter tour wouldn't be long enough for Vatican City. The... more

We toured the Vatican with Through Eternity Tour guide Ann. She gave a wonderful and insightful tour of an overwhelming body of work. I appreciated her art background, her sense of humor, the way she directed our eyes throughout the day. She was skilled in moving us through a very crowded day at the museum. We had a group of... more
