My husband and I spent a fantastic day with Maribel in April 2012. We started with a market tour, where Maribel took us to various stalls to purchase meat, vegetables and sweets (chocolate salami!) for our lesson that morning. We then went to her house, met with the other two members of our class and started the lesson. Maribel's kitchen... More

As I write this review, I am still thinking of the people of the Emilia-Romagna region, north of Bologna, where they have just suffered the earthquake. My thoughts and prayers go out to those families who lost loved ones and for those who have damaged homes or no home at all. Having just returned from our trip to Italy and... More

We really enjoyed 2 days with Maribel, starting off with a market tour. She explained everything , answered all our questions, good sense of humour, we learned a lot, leaving full of enthusiasm to get started on making our own pasta More

Getting up bright and early our first morning in Bologna found us joining Maribel to shop and purchase the wonderful ingredients for our day of pasta making and sauce making with Maribel of Taste of Italy. How interesting to move from shop to shop and market to market to find just the right ingredients for the recipes we had discussed... More

Our morning with Maribel, learning how to make 3 kinds of pasta (tagliatelle, farfalle and tortelloni) by hand, plus sauces, was a highlight of our trip. We were a group of 4: 1 Canadian, 1 Australian and 2 New Zealanders. Maribel is very thorough, patient and attentive to each student so by the end you feel like a pro, yet... More

We had an amazing day with Maribel. First we had an excellent tour of the food market which included an impromptu balsamico tasting which was very informative and fun. Maribel explained some of the unfamiliar produce to us and showed us her favourite places to which we returned the next day to stock up on specialities to take home. On... More

This is a very accessible class with a passionate, patient, friendly and knowledgeable teacher. No need to know how to cook to enjoy this class, catering to beginners and more experienced cooks. Maribel even drove us back to our hotel and sent a follow up email with more details and recipes. More

Maribel is a great teacher. She kept all of us - our 8 and 12 year-olds, non-cook husband, my mother and myself -engaged and learning through out the afternoon. We started with a tour of the market and then went back to her place to cook and then eat. The pasta was amazing. I am looking forward to trying the... More

I would highly recommend this experience. It was a very enjoyable way to spend the day. I felt like I was in my mother's kitchen as she made pasta before the days of kitchen aid mixers and pasta machines. It is truly an art! I wish I had more time to take additional classes. More

We started early in the markets which was so enjoyable, learning about all the speciality foods of this region. We shopped for what we were to cook that day. We then... More
