A short bus ride (from the train station and/or Piazza Caduti) away through uninspiring suburbs, but absolutely worth it. Wonderful mosaic of the transfiguration with the apostles as sheep. More

We shared a bus with lots of local kids but had the whole basilica to ourselves - a stunning sight and well worth the effort of getting there. It is simply stunning (and very cheap!) More

Impressive choir has fantastic mosaic murals with a particularly vibrant green color. The scenes are really interesting and it is highly impressive that this represents one of the early strifes in formulating basic christian doctrine. More

Loving the mosaics. It is not in the centre of Ravenna (we went with our car), it's 6 kms south, but worth the visit. The combined ticket with the Theodoric Mausoleum and the Museo Nazionale is very convenient. More
