I feel I am fairly well travelled but this was just one of the most amazing places I have ever seen! Completely took my breath away! What a remarkable place. Quite stunning! A good walk or quick taxi ride from the Opicine tram station (take the tram from central Trieste), this cave is simply amazing. Hello. We have just been in Grotta Gigante in Trieste last week. The best part was to the low temperature. It was 39 C outside that day. Only 12 C inside. There are 500 steps down and 500 up. In combination with the high moistness, it was a terrible experience. I have reasontly got asthma, and I can´t recomend this... more
