Very nice, small charming town, badly affected after october 2011 floods, but recovered very well. Full of character and charm.

We found this town to be our favorite in the Cinque Terra, which is a tough accomplishment since all the towns are fantastic.
While the hike from Monterosso was strenuous for us, we enjoyed walking around this town and having lunch by the bay as our reward for surviving the beautiful hike with breathtaking views.

Visting Cinque Terre is a great idea but make sure you carefully check train schedules since it varies from day to day and is infrequent back to La Spezia. My friends and I came to Vernazza on May 1, 2012 and our hearts were warmed by the spirit of the people and how quickly the town is recovering from the floods. Many stores and shops have started to re-open and even new construction nearing completion in the wake of the flood damage of 2011.
