A must visit on your list if in the area. It needs almost a whole day to do justice to these lovely gardens, particularly if you are a keen gardener yourself. Two slight snags and one has already been mentioned, is the parking as there are only a few places on a fairly busy road. The second is that the... More

One of the best exotic garden all over... The sight is amazing in all seasons(maybe better spring and summer)... I've also been there for a music cultural event and I cam say for sure that's the most amazing place of its style More

You enter the garden from a peak over the Mediterranean, and then walk down an incline that goes back and forth across the face of the hill/mountain; it is a bit like skiing down a steep incline, by going back and forth (rather than straight down) the incline is a much easier walk - nothing is too steep and the... The plants are the main attraction at the Hanbury gardens. I particularly enjoyed the succulents and cacti which we cannot grow outdoors in the UK. I would love to return in the spring to see more flowering plants. There are also interesting artifacts to view - the dragon fountain (with turtles in the pond beneath) and the japanese bell. There... More

Very nice exotic/botanic garden on a superb location. We combined it with a visit to the nearby town of Dolceacqua: the two combined make a perfect day trip away from the beaches of the Riviera. Parking at the gardens may be a bit of a problem (there is no parking lot). More

We visited the gardens in our late 60's but had no trouble navigating the paths down to the bottom. Unfortunately there is no access to the beach from there, so don't get your hopes up on the way down. There is a cafe there if you need food or drink for the return journey :-) We paid €15 for the two... My family lives in Mortola, and everytime I visit, I make a point to go to the Hanbury Gardens. When my father was younger, he actually worked here, so we like to go and see how it's changed over the years. It's a fantastic way to spend a lazy morning or afternoon....... lots of paths, but be mindful that the... More
