Excellent views of the lake and a really smooth ride! Even though I was a bit scared! Enjoyed Alpyland at the top of the mountain too! Just make sure you put enough time on your parking ticket at the bottom if you're driving to the station!! More

Definitely a must-do activity. The cable car is fun to ride and very scenic on the way up. It has two stops, one at the botanical garden and one at the very top. We turned up to take the Cable Car up to Mottarone, parked, paid 10 Euros into the parking machine and wandered over to the Cable Car building to buy our tickets. Quelle surprise! We did the whole deal: Stresa - Mottarone via cable car and then the hike (5-6km) down the mountain. It cost ~12 Euros pp + 2 Euro card deposit.
