This palazzo has more than 700 rooms - i think the tour around went through some 100 - with lots of paintings and figures. You need to book in advance if the want to go there in high season, but at the time we went there - we were the only ones there! More

The palace is great and, most of all, the Sala degli Sposi with frescoes. People make reservation in advance to see it. Go and see for yourself, it it really worth it. More

Don't bring a camera. There are no photos allowed in this museum. We had called the day before to get a reservation to see the Camera deli sposi. They gave us a time of 10am and told us to be there 15 minutes before. We showed up 30 minutes early and were allowed in. So quickly walked through the museum... More

We toured this Museo and Palace and found it to be quite interesting. It is huge and has some lovely wall frescoes. Mantua in general, was a lovely city to tour. It is not filled with lots of tourists and has a real medieval feel to the city. More

In a town with few other attractions this one stands head and shoulders (literally) above the rest. Its endless succession of rooms bear witness to the legacy of the Gonzaga family who had connections to the place until early in the 20th Century. Be warned that in winter you will need to wear your coat indoors, but make sure you... More

Palazzo Ducale in Mantova is a labyrinth of wonderful rooms and corridors, each with peculiar paintings. La Camera deli Sposi, painted by Andrea Mantegna from 1465, it's worth, all alone, the visit to Mantova. We really liked also the Sala dell zodiaco as well as La galleria deli specchi. If you visit it in winter, be careful as the Palazzo... More

We visited this Palazzo last week. It is nothing short of astonishing. Set aside several hours for a remarkable tour. We did get awfully confused though trying to get out. The signage was dubious. Breadcrumb trail recommended. More
