This little church is unfortunately very often closed. This is indeed a shame since it is really worth it to enter and see how well the trompe l'oeil, behind the altar, works. What I however love most is at the back of the church. It's the terracotta frieze. So if the place is closed, be sure you don't forget to... More

First: as I am writing this review, Santa Maria presso San Satiro ranks third for attractions in Milan. Well: it is not. It is absolutely worth a visit bit it's not the third attraction of Milan. It's a small church very close to Duomo (shoulder to duomo facade, enter via torino, the church is a few meters on the left)... More

Bramante's altar fake perspective and Mazzoni's statues must not be missed. A gem in the center of the food & pop-shopping district. More

A pretty, little church quite near the main church. Don't miss it because of its trompe l'oeuil by Donato Bramante (a renowned italian artist as Raffaello, or Leonardo da Vinci, or Michelangelo). When you go inside it seems to be a normal, medium church, but go stright on till the altar and notice the apse part... More
