The Holly Shroud is kept in a big casket in a chapel dedicated to it. The Cathedral is a big church, with a majestic interior, not too ornamented. There is a small book store with books presenting the Shroud's history and flyers in many languages. More

Key monument in historic Turin and almost unique Renaissance building in this overall baroque city, the cathedral is close to the royal palace. The inside, though less spectacular (the fantastic and world reputated dome was closed due to a fire that has damaged it...years ago....) is worth the visit with excellent paintings. For people interested in the Holy Shroud, you get... More

Worth the visit. The story of the shroud is amazing, the volunteers are really kind. Gorgeous cathedral - not that big and fancy as the general Italian ones but we loved it. More

Turin's cathedral is not one of those impressive, magnificent Italian churches, it's nice but quite average for Italy. The chapel of the Holy Shroud is guarded by volunteers that admonish against taking photos, but why? if he only thing to see is the clothes that cover a box where a replica of the Holy Shroud is kept? Couldn't understand the... More

Interesting to visit but all about that piece of cloth. Curiosity value only or just a cinema to sit and watch the church propaganda on a large plasma screen. Scientifically disproved but still being touted as fact. More

You can't actually see the shroud, a picture of the impression of the face hangs above it. It is housed in a box behind glass in what looks like the Royal Box at an Opera House. There is no admission charge to the cathedral or the shroud which in this day and age of commercialism is very pleasing. There is... More

The Duomo itself is not an especially memorable church. The shroud is in its little chapel in a box, invisibe to visitors. But there are screens with a video explaining the shroud and this is very interesting and informative. Also the shop at the back seems to be open even during services! More
