Red runs, but easy and wide. Compact resort with nice Runs. I would stay in Pila and use the Cable to go down into Aosta at night for the bars . Get off the bus at the car park to the lifts - Pila side of the train tracks. Otherwise it's a long walk in ski boots. More

I have visited Pila many times in all seasons. It is always lovely. If you like the great outdoors then Pila has much to offer - skiing, walking and lots of outdoor pursuits. i am not a great skier but like to buckle on my snow shoes and go for a hike. Very peaceful experience but hard work. In the... More

Quite exposed ski resort, very cold when we visited. Still worth the trip from Courmayeur for a days skiing. The Restaurant Yeti at the top of the Aosta gondola is worth a visit for lunch. More

Pila is a great resort in the Aosta Valley for ski or snow board beginners or improvers. It's well protected by mountains on all sides so not a windy resort. Good intermediate & advanced skiers may find it lacking in challenge as the red runs are fairly easy & there aren't any really long runs. We stayed in Chalet Hotel... More

Second time in Pila with a big group of friends for skiing on a (quite) long weekend. the main highlights: - The place is easy to reach: 2 hours driving distance from Torino or from Milano (and car rentals are quite favourable especially in the first place, but never forget to ask snow chains!). - Variety of slopes: mainly red... We visited Pila over Christmas 2011, staying in Aosta and taking the Gondola to Pila, a 20 minute trip. The resort was ideal for our family of 2 very rusty adults and 2 children new to skiing. Food was tasty and cheap, coffee was the best at £1.30 a go. Italians were lovely, and the British instructors we had excellent.... More

Went to Pila early January 2012 for a weeks skiing with family. There was a lot of snow and we were lucky enough to have blue sky and sunshine all week, with all the lifts and pistes open. The pistes were kept in excellent condition all week, and there was some good off piste skiing to be found earlier in... More
