Whilst the Cathedral is indeed beautiful it is the Baptistry that demands a visit. It is simply breath-taking. The square contains a number of lovely little bars & restaurants & it's only a short walk to other Padua attractions. Padova is only some 20 minutes or so from Venice. The City is ancient and has many attractions not least the Ancient Venician Palaces along the river.
