this place is really beautiful, when sunny all italians go here to have a picnic or just lay down. Usually in the mornings you can find a little market with typical italian products. By night is better not to go along cause it could be a dangerous place with a lot of dealers and not so nice people. More

This is a lovely open space to sit and read or picnic - or to sit at a cafe at the side and watch the world go by. If you go early enough in the morning there is also a fruit and veg market. More

A hot day, but fun to look at all the stalls. Went into S. Giuliana Basilica and cooled off a bit. A wonderful piazza, a lake with bridges and stautes. More

it's one of the biggest square in Europe. There is a market every Saturday morning, and other markets on other days of the week. Bars, stores, churches and you can go there by MetroBus (from the train station) or walk from the very centre of Padua. More

This is what the Italian notion of bellezza (beauty) is all about, with white statues of perfection encircling the idyllically named plaza. NIce to have a light meal under the sun. More

Following the main promenade full of shops, cafés, Via Roma, which leads from the Palazzo del Bo - the oldest part of the University of Padua, we come to the next landmark of Padua, which is the Prato della Valle. Prato della Valle is not only the second largest, after Moscow's Red Square, the square in Europe, it is also... More

On Saturday, you will find the area surrounded by merchants as the market is open sun up until sun down. However other days, it is Padova's own Central Park. People walk, run, roller blade and play with their dogs. Others read under a tree of sit and watch the children play in the fountain. When I am here with my... More

Since our hotel was close by we walked here several times. On the Friday night there was a kind of "green" festival with decent food. Saturday the stalls sold just about everything. The fresh fruit was lovely and cheap - we bought strawberries, raspberries and peaches and ate them walking and later. More
