From the exterior, just down from the Ponte dei Pugni, only an unassuming red and black sign beckons you inside the Venice Jazz Club. Indeed if I hadn't seen poster after poster after poster around the city advertising its concerts, I would undoubtably have walked straight past it. Enlightened by the poster's map however, I pulled open the heavy door... more

There are many, many reasons to visit Venice, but night life per se is not one of them. There are things going on here and there, but generally speaking, this town shuts down early. The one campo, ie piazza, with bars and restaurants that stays lively with a happy buzz until midnight and later on weekends is the Campo Santa... more
