Gondola's are about 100 euros - about 40 minutes. It was between 4 of us and was well worth it. Our gondola person sang the cornetto song and had a great sense of humour. Bit of a wobbly moment all changing seats in the middle of the grand canal. Venice is just so stunning. Would definitely go back. More

When you first see the Grand Canal with its elegants buildings on each side your almost left breathless. It is truly unique as is the entire city of Venice. You take in the gondolas, the vaperettos, and the elegant regal looking buildings and churches, including San Georgio and Salute. More

Don't worry about the gondolas - overpriced and overrated. Use the public vaparettoes -buy a day, 2 day or 3 day ticket to save even more. Do not eat close to the grand canal or San Marco - very expensive, explore the restaurants in the quieter streets and canals. More

We heard about Venice and wanted this to be our first trip after moving to Paris. Venice is so different from anything we could have imagined....trully magical. It is sad to see how much of the city is sinking. The canal is beautiful. Downside of Venice is how crowded and touristy it is. More

I recommend doing some sort of pass through the Grand Canal, just so you can say that you did it, but other than that, I didn't really enjoy it. It's crowded, busy, and dirty. Overall a let-down, but again, you have to experience it for yourself. More

The view from the Rialto bridge, either night or day, is amazing. Watching all the various boats safely navigating the waters is interesting as it is incredibly busy. More

We weren't really planning to take a gondola ride while in Venice, but the kids asked and we were approached by a gondolier so we caved. It was wonderful! Go EARLY! It is the first thing we did in the morning and there were few other gondolas out and about. We got a good price for a family of five-... More
