I am not after ship models and cannons, nevertheless I enjoyed visiting this museum, which you can reach by a nice walk along Riva degli Schiavoni starting from St. Mark's square. It hosts many interesting items connected to the history of navy. My favourite were an ancient gondola and the one given by Mrs. Guggenheim. On the last floor a...

I totally stumbled upon this as I was walking from St. Mark's Square and it started to rain. Really cheap (1,55 euro) and HUGE! I find history very interesting, and the history of the Venetian navy IS the history of Venice. It was really incredible and even if you just walk around for 15 minutes its' worth it, but if...

Interesting place to while away a couple of hours, free entry and some interesting objects to see, but sadly lacking on the interpretation front. The labels include English so at least you know what your looking at, but there is very little attempt to tell the story of Venice as a naval superpower, so after your 2 hours are over...

This place is amazing it cost 1.55 euro each to get in and we spent 2 hours here and we felt it was the best place we had visited in venice. It covers 4 floors and goes from 1547 to modern day with bits of boats recovered from the sea great models and uniforms.

Very Italian centric (of course) you'd think they were the main naval power and that britain hardly ruled the...

This was the most interesting of the museums in Venice. A high point for me was seeing the fire control computer from 1935. The ship and boat models were also very interesting. Admission is only 1.55 Euro.

Not for you if you're bored by naval and nautical history, but if you're into it there is almost too much to see in one visit! Hundreds of years of Venetian and Italian nautical and marine history represented by models, replicas, artifacts, originals, artwork, flags, uniforms, weapons, etc. Caution - the brochure refers to a "Ship Pavilion" with actual ships,...

In fairness..it held my attention for the first 10 rooms....by the end of 42, my partner..who loved it...and dared mention visiting it again!...had no trouble dragging me out of there and on the flipside, i discovered my coat was reversible....
