Nice mask shop in Venice. Good quality masks, hand made, with certificates. This shop supplied the masks for Stanley Kubrick's "Eyes Wide Shut." The staff was decent too, however, I found a mask which was priced at 36 EUR. She said it was improperly priced and it is normal around 65 EUR, but because it was black and white, the... More

My husband, our nine-year old daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our one-hour mask making (decorating and painting) session with one of their staff (Fiorella). It was something different to do aside from sight-seeing and eating in Venice. But more than that, it was amazing to be surrounded by the artistic energies of the workshop/studio and of Dorsoduro as a whole.... More

My husband and I just happened upon this store, we knew nothing of it before. The masks in the window caught our attention immediately so we went over for a look. We were very surprised to see the sign in the window indicating they had done all the masks for the Stanley Kubrick/Tom Cruise movie Eyes Wide Shut. They have... More

We have been to Venice a few times but this was our first time at this wonderful workshop. I did not visit their stores, I think they have two, but me and my child spent a great time there doing a mask for her that was honestly the highlight of this trip during carnivale. The man that was doing our... More

This shop seems overrated to me. There is nothing special to it except that apparently the artists were hired by Stanley Kubrick for the masks of Eyes Wide Shot. But in my opinion you will find as many good masks as these ones anywhere in Venice. More

Our family of 4 enjoyed a 1 hr mask-making session at Ca'Macana. We all really loved working on our masks - even the less artistically-inclined members of our group. It was expensive, but we will have our masks forever, and it was much more fun than just choosing them in a shop! More

We went here because of the guidebook recommendations and trip advisor reviews. This was far from the best shop we found. Limited selection and above average prices. We did not find what we wanted here. iPhone maps also has the location in the wrong place so we had a hard time finding it, too. More

This was quoted as a highlight of our trip by our children (aged 10 and 13). We had a mini conference explaining the making of masks and how they were used during the Carnevale time. This lasted one hour and then we each painted a mask for another hour. This formula was adapted to our special request and I am... More

My husband and I had arranged a trip to Venice to celebrate our first wedding anniversary which is symbolised by "paper". So what better memento of the occasion than to design our own authentic Venetian mask made of papier mache! As usual, the net is a wonderful thing when looking for inspiration of things to see and do on a... More

We did a mask making class here. It was a wonderful experience. We thoroughly enjoyed it! First, Nancy gives a wonderful presentation on the history of masks in Venetian culture and then you select from a large selection of masks. You are guided through each of the steps of decorating your mask, including the final touch - gold and silver... More
