Handles crowds and rush times expertly for locals and travelers alike. The one week pass was well worth the expense. We went everywhere with our pass: Close to anywhere in Venice and convenient to Murano, Burano, Lido. Thanks, ACTV, for a wonderful week in Venice. More

I was only in Venice for 2-3 days and wanted to see the Grand Canal in the most affordable way. I took Vaporetto #1 from Venezia S.L. train station to Piazza San Marco one evening, and it was one of the highlights of my trip. If you can, wait for a vaporetto with seating at the front. But if not,... More

Of course, the walkways through the narrow passageways of the islands of Venice are a real treat however exploring Venice by Vaporetto (water bus) is also a unique experience. Many of us (like me) do/did not realise that there are numerous old Palaces in Venice and many of these front the canals as this is their 'front yard'. Therefore the... More

My partner and I, late 60s, used the vaporetto boats for 3 weeks in November 2011. We stayed in an apartment about 500 meters from St Stae stop. An excellent way to see the Grand Canal, the islands or to use them as local buses for getting around. Young people may find it is faster to walk many times. We... More

For me it was like subways on water, there was the #1, #2, express, locals, etc. It was the best way to get around to most of the attractions in Venice, including the Lido, Murano and Burano! Thaks to my cousin's research we got a 7 day pass which was a real value even though we were there for 6... More

The vaporetto transport system is very good and a great way to see Venice without the expense of taxis and gondolas, we purchased a 36 hour pass and used most of the lines available to see the lagoons, islands and generally get around. Sadly at one stage a handbag was left on the boat, we retraced our steps and ended... More

We arrived on a cruise ship at Marittima. We had pre booked travel cards and toilet tickets through www.veniceconnected.com . This was not worth doing. The ticket office where the ship docked would not take the internet vouchers so we had to get the people mover, (a monorail which has lift access to the platforms costs €1.00 each way, correct...
