Hang out on the balcony and watch the boats chug by. Don't miss the fabulous floor mosaics on the main floor. I could skip the artwork showcased within the house, but the architecture and location are breathtaking.

We arrived on a "miracle day" when the courtyard wasn't under water. The mosaic walls and floors are simply astounding. The exhibits are breathtaking as are the views of the Grand Canal from the lacy arched windows.

This museum is not included in the museum pass (too bad!). But the price was not too high and well worth it. For starters it has a gorgeous courtyard (our best photos were from there). The artwork has a great variety: from paintings to pottery. The views from all the floors were incredible (I could almost see Johnny Depp running...

We thought, from the description in our guide book, that this place would be lavish and beautiful but inside it was fairly dull and not worth the fairly pricey admission. There were some nice paintings but nothing like we had expected. Either we were missing something or the guide book greatly exaggerated.

Other reviewers mention the cost - which is admittedly high - but the fresco fragments displayed at eye level and the marble mosaic terrace justified the cost for me. It also opens early (8:30 a.m.), so I was able to fit it in before most other attractions were open.

In October 2010 my wife and I spent 15 days in an apartment directly across the Grand Canal from Ca D'Oro. We arranged the apartment through an agency called Truly Venice which we cannot recommend highly enough. Although we knew that the Ca D'Oro was a museum, we didn't intend to visit it but did, on a whim, one day...

The terrace downstairs has a wonderful mosaic marble flooring unlike anything I've seen before anywhere else in the world. Apart from that there is nothing left of the original palace and bar a few interesting items on display, the collection is rather boring. The price tag of EUR 9.50 is extremely expensive for what's on offer.

I just stayed at this sweet little hotel. Although it is a bit hard to find (if coming on your own and not being transferred) but it is great. the staff is helpful & sweet and the rooms are nice and all 4 that I saw (our group had required 4 rooms) were beautifully decorated. I know this is a...

The collections here are OK but I have concern if they position it as a museum or a private party. We were there on the day of Regatta Storica and expected we could have a good view. Unfortunately, the second floor patio was reserved for a private party. The staff informed us without apology. Instead, she treated us as intruders....

If you really want to look inside the building, then go ahead. I suppose I'm glad I did, but I wouldn't go again. There wasn't enough to look at inside - there was a nice courtyard, but inside the main building it was like a small modern art gallery, not much to look at really. There were some nice views...
